What is ABA?
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the application of the science of behaviour to create meaningful change in an individual’s life. Behaviour analysis can be applied to a wide variety of skills, including activities of daily living (e.g., brushing teeth, toilet training, etc.), academic barriers (e.g., academic skill deficits, completing work independently, remaining on-task, etc.), gross and fine motor deficits, challenging behaviors (e.g., tantrums, aggression, etc.), language and communication, and social skills. ABA works by breaking down larger skills into small, objective targets that can be measured over time. Behaviour Analysts work with an individual to develop the targeted skills systematically, where each new skill builds on existing skills within the individual’s repertoire and sets the stage to learn larger, more complex skills.

Creating meaningful change.
